wednesday, March 11, 1998 Well to be drilled at stadium The Stratford School Board voted unanimously Monday night to drill a well at Tiger Stadium.
The board came to this decision after looking at the cost of bringing village water to the stadium.
An engineer hired to estimate the cost of piping village water to the stadium would cost between $2,000 and $3,000, Superintendent Thomas Tuttle told the board.
“You could almost drill a well for that,” commented board member Darlene Schmitt, who said it cost her less than $3,000 to drill her well.
Tuttle said that PMSI, the architectural firm in Wausau that has done the school addition, roughly estimated the cost of connecting the stadium to village water at close to $11,000.
Pipe size and if sewer lines would also be necessary was another concern of connecting to village water.
