The Clark County Sheriff's Office has announced that Manfred P. Weisgerber, 74, has served his sentence and will reside in Neillsville.
Weisgerber was previously convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child, incest with a child and fourthdegree sexual assault. Weisgerber’s targeted victims were minor females known to him. Mr. Weisgerber was released Sept. 19 and will reside at 1004 Prospect St., Neillsville.
Weisgerber is a white male with gray hair and hazel eyes. He has an approximate weight of 191 pounds and height of 5 feet, 8 inches.
Weisgerber will be supervised by agents specializing in intensive supervision. He is to have no unsupervised contact with minors and no contact with the victim, and is not to consume any drugs. He is to comply with the standard sex offender rules, cooperate with electronic monitoring and is required to have face-to-face contact with law enforcemen. In addition, he must comply with all requirements as a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office released this information on Sept. 22 following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m), which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection.
“This sex offender has served the sentence imposed on him by the courts. He is not wanted by law enforcement at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public,” Chief Deputy James Hirsch of Clark County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a press release.
“Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until the Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated.”
