Colby set to graduate 75 on Friday


Colby High School will hold its commencement ceremony Friday, May 26, at 7 p.m. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held on the high school track and football field. In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be moved indoors to the high school gymnasium.
The valedictorian is Emmalee Empey. She is the daughter of Gene and Jamie Empey of Abbotsford. Empey is pursuing a post-secondary degree at UW-Whitewater with a major of pre-law. The salutatorian is Grant Oelrich. He is the son of Gene and Leanne Oelrich of Spencer. In the fall, Grant will be attending UW-Green Bay pursuing a major in pre-med.
The class will graduate 75 students. The class motto is “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory,” by Dr. Seuss. The flower is a white rose dipped in gold.
