Hornets come up short in a battle with Cardinals

By Ginna Young

Things started out slow for Cadott’s boys basketball team Jan. 26, in a home game against league opponent Thorp. The Hornets went into halftime down by 12, but by the second half, Cadott had stepped it up on offense and nearly outmatched the Cardinals.

However, time ran out with the deficit from the first half, the game went to Thorp, 58-48.

Junior Bradee Burish led for Cadott, with 17 points, followed by junior Jordan Peters and sophomore Warren Bowe, who each had 10. Freshman Jackson Barone added 2 points on the night, while sophomore Nolan Freed chipped in with a point from a free throw.

The Hornets are now 4-12 on the season and 0-9 in the West Cloverbelt Conference.
