On campus

UW-Platteville has announced it has named, Caleb Mueller, a mechanical engineering student from Edgar, to its dean’s list for the spring 2022 semester.

The College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science requires students to reach at least a 3.50 GPA to qualify for the dean’s list.

UW-Eau Claire has named two Edgar students to its spring 2022 dean’s list. They are Kaleb Hafferman, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Tristan Wirkus, College of Arts and Sciences.

Seasoned Players

In week two of the Edgar Seasoned Players league, Camouche and his long time adopted son Bean hooked up in a pitchers duel during the Landmark vs. Mullies game.. There were six hits between both teams during four innings. Heath made a great catch in left to stunt any chances Landmark had of scoring early. In the fifth inning, Jimmy finally broke the dam and Landmark came up with four runs. Jimmy came through again in the sixth inning, knocking in Gobbler and Emp. In the seventh inning, Nathan had a big sac fly and broke the game open. The Mullies had a hit in every inning but Landmark’s defense held up in a 12-0 victory. Roy was 3-4 with John and Shanney going 2-3. Seven players had two hits for Landmark, getting 17 of their 20 hits in the last three innings. The Mullies helped out with a rash of errors except for Terry who may have been sleeping in right field.

Strobes Garage used its extra time off to take batting practice. They unleashed on Edgar Lanes in a 17-2 victory. Strobes also picked up former all-star Rick Dalhke and added him to their roster. The Edgar Lanes highlight was the three strike outs they accumulated. They enjoyed the skirt changing (a strikeout tradition for Strobes) with Justin wearing it the best.

The Louie/Werners game was canceled again. Perhaps this was for the best because of the passing of their great sponsor Jerry Werner. The concession stand ladies said that while tending for their favorite ball players they were reminiscing about J. W. Pabst. They stated that the game of softball will be carried on through his name and legacy.
