Angela “Angie” “Ang” Kay (Simington) Hammond, 43, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at George Washington Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Known to many as Angie or Ang, she was born Sept. 2, 1978, in Eau Claire, to Mark and Kim (Stoll) Simington.

She was the oldest of three children.

Angela grew up on a dairy farm in rural Cornell. She was an avid athlete, playing just about any sport and always excelling at them. She graduated from Cornell High School in 1997, and began at CVTC that fall.

After graduation, Angela worked for United Health Care for 21 years. She was also an active member of the Bloomer Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband – David; children – Isabelle, 14, and Logan, 12; parents – Mark and Kim; sister – Joleen (Shawn Shurtz); brother – Justin (Karen) Simington; many nieces and nephews; grandparents – Marion (Eddie) Rembleski and Delmar (Kate) Stoll; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents – Marcella and Paul Simington; and parents-in-law – Ralph and Mary Hammond.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, June 24, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 25, at Bloomer Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service, Saturday, at the church, and live streamed on the church website.

Interment was in the Bloomer Cemetery.
