Lake Holcombe falls to high-scoring Raiders

By Ginna Young

It was a tough match-up Dec. 20, as the Lake Holcombe boys basketball program played host to Bruce, in what was a brutal time on the scoreboard.

The Chieftains were outmatched 41-20, in just the first half, while scoring remained scarce in the second half of the game. Lake Holcombe was never able to get their offense going and the game went to the Raiders, 72-31.

“We had a hard time getting things going tonight,” said coach Joy Webster.

Junior Taye Yeager led the offense with 12 points, followed by senior Harley Schroeder, with 7, and sophomore Brian Strzok, with 6. Sophomore Ryley Craker added 4 points and senior Abram Wininger chipped in with 2.

Junior Trent Nitek led the team with 3 steals and Craker added 3 assists, while Strzok led the team with 11 rebounds, followed by Schroeder, with 4.
