Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Stratford is offering Vacation Bible School for children entering Kindergarten through sixth grade, from 9 a.m. until 7:45 p.m. on June 10 and 24, July 8 and 22 and Aug. 5.
Vacation Bible School will consist of Bible stories, crafts, snacks and outside activities for children.
Parents should call 715-687-4908 or text 262-914-7305 to sign up their children for Vacation Bible School this summer.
FFA dairy breakfast
Stratford FFA Alumni will hold a dairy breakfast and farm tour on Sunday, June 5, at Country Aire Ballroom, located at the corner of STH 97 and CTH P.
An “all you can eat” breakfast menu of pancakes, butter, cheese, fresh maple syrup, sausage, milk, ice cream, coffee and orange juice from 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. There is a fee for people to eat but children five years and under are free.
There is a free tour of Stueber Farms from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
College notes
Emily Meyer of Stratford graduated Magna Cum Laude from Winona State University in spring with a bachelor of science degree in teaching special education.
Alexia Daul, Callie Lehman and Chandler Schmidt of Stratford were awarded to the dean’s list at Winona State University for the spring semester.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be an undergraduate enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours for a grade) and achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
Book Club
The public is welcome to join the Marathon County Stratford Branch Library at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, for a Book Club discussion on the book titled, “The Heirloom Garden” by author Viola Shipman.

BEPCO will meet
BEPCO (Big Eau Pleine Citizens Organization) will hold its annual meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Hotchkiss’s Last Cast. Lunch will follow the meeting. BEPCO is also seeking new members.
The voice of BEPCO members has told the BEPCO Board of Directors that im- proving water level and quality, fishing and recreation are the most important goals. The BEPCO Board of Directors will continue to focus on achieveing these goals.
BEPCO Board of Directors are aware that all issues of the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir are not going ot be resolved in the near future, nor done by the organization. The BEPCO Board of Directors will continue to work with its partners and stakeholders to secure funding, as well as the implementation of the Big Eau Pleine Lake Management Plan.
Bloodmobile
A bloodmobile will be held from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at the VFW clubhouse in Stratford.
The following Tuesday blood drives will take place at the VFW clubhouse in Stratford: June 28, Aug. 23 and Oct. 25. No appointments are needed for people to donate blood.
Luau story time
Aloha! Children and parents can attend a Hawaiian luau-themed outdoor story time from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, at the Marathon County Public Library’s Stratford Branch, located at 213201 Scholar St.
Children and parents can hear stories and participate in a variety of fun games and activities. Story time is free to attend.
