ALENDAR SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERTS ARE ABOUT TO COMMENCE

Maple Grove Charter School in Hamburg will hold its Christmas concerts for third through fifth grades at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, in the school gym. School doors will open at 5:15 p.m. on both nights.

The Athens Elementary School Christmas concert will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, in the high school gym. The Athens Middle/High School band concert will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, in the high school gym.

Athens Middle/High School choir will be performing at various nursing homes in Wausau on Thursday, Dec. 15. Athens Middle/High School choir will also be “Caroling in the Park” at Athens Memorial Park at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Edgar Elementary Christmas concerts are on Thursday, Dec. 8 starting with middle school at 9 a.m., K-2 at 12:45 p.m., grades 3-5 at 1 p.m. and high school concert at 7 p.m. located at the Edgar High School auditorium.

St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Edgar is holding its Christmas program and social at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18.

The Marathon Venture Academy (MVA)/Marathon High School (MHS) winter concerts are on Monday, Dec. 12. The MVA/MHS band performance at 5:30 p.m. and MVA/MHS choir performance at 7:30 pm., both in the MHS auditorium.

Marathon Area Elementary School (MAES) winter concerts are are Monday, Dec. 19. The 4K concert is at 1:30 p.m. in the MAES gym. The 5K through first grade concert is at 5 p.m. in the Marathon High School (MHS) auditorium. The second and third grade concert is at 6 p.m. in the MHS auditorium and the fourth and fifth grade concert is at 7 p.m. in the MHS auditorium.

St. Mary’s Catholic School in Marathon will hold its Christmas concert at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, in the school gym. Piano students will play from 5:306 p.m. before the concert.

Stratford Elementary Christmas concert will be on Tuesday, Dec. 13. 4K-2nd grade at 9 a.m. and 3rd-5th grade at 1:30 p.m. The middle/high school winter concert is on Sunday, Dec. 18. The middle school winter concert is at 1:30 p.m. and high school winter concert at 3 p.m.

St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Stratford is holding its Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, in the church.

SANTA AND MRS. CLAUS AT FENWOOD LIONS

The Fenwood Lions will be hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus in Fenwood on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 1-3 p.m. at Illusion’s Bar. Come visit Santa and have your picture taken. Children will receive a treat.

SANTA IS COMING TO EDGAR

On Sunday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. watch Santa with his reindeer come down Main Street and turn on the Christmas tree lights by the log cabin at Oak Street Park. Then Santa and Mrs. Claus will light the tree in the Oak Street shelter before giving out treats to the children. There will be hot chocolate, cookies and bars. Special activities are planned throughout the day from 1-3 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help serve and bake cookies and bars. Call 715-352-2577, ask for Karen if you are able to help. Characters are still needed for costumes.

MCPL GRAB & GO CRAFT KITS - FLOWER PIN

Through December 31, adults can pick up a free Grab & Go craft kit from any of the nine Marathon County Public Library locations. The kit will contain supplies for making a colorful felt flower pin. Free and available while supplies last. For more info, call 715-261-7230.

SENIOR EDGAR COMMUNITY EVENTS

Please join us at the St. Stephen Lutheran Church basement on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. There will be music by The Jazzerries, refreshments and snacks. Bingo will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. There will be refreshments, snack and prizes. The 1891 Life (National Catholic Society of Foresters) St. Mary’s Court 850 Christmas dinner party will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, at Village Inn, Marathon. ATHENS ASSEMBLY OF GOD’S INVITATION THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON

Athens Assembly of God is extending an invitation to each and everyone this Christmas season. Join them Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. for “Praise and Worship” followed by a “Scripture Based Message.” Athens Assembly of God also invites everyone to join us on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. for the annual church Christmas program.
