Senior Sarah Zuelke has been awarded the Stratford High School Student of the Month in March. A term that best describes Zuelke is resolute. A resolute person is defined as being firm and unwavering in their convictions. They are dependable, undaunted and unshaken, willing to meet and overcome obstacles.

A nominator said this about Zuelke: “She does so many little things that often go unnoticed, not asking for awards or acknowledgements, just because it is consistently the right thing to do to make others around her better.”

Another nominator said this about Zuelke: “Even though I haven’t had the opportunity to coach the Zuelke, I have long admired her leadership skills and willingness to take underclassmen under her ‘wing’ in representing her school and community.”

Zuelke is involveed in the following community and school activities: National Honor Society, Rotary lights, clean-up at Nine Mile forrest, has volunteered over 125 hours in the pediactric unit at Marshfield Medical Center, high honor roll, cross country and track.

Senior Megan Wiese has been awarded the Stratford High School Student of the Month in April.

A term used to describe Wiese is ambitious. An ambitious person is defined as having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed.

A nominator said this about Wiese: “Megan is such a deserving candidate for Student of the Month. She is involved, dedicated and intelligent. I’ve never known her to turn in anything less than her best work. She is also very polite and personable to her peers and teachers, and yet she can also quickly settle in and get work done. She will undoubtedly go far in life. She has such a bright future ahead of her.”

Wiese is involved in the following community and school activities: Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Caring for Others (CFO), Math League, Art Club, high honor roll, forensics, student council, captain of the volleyball team and softball.

On campus

Alec Nagel of Stratford graduted from UW-Eau Claire in January with a bachelor degree in business administration, business finance. Stratford High School graduate Oscar Telschow, Ripon College Class of 2024, volunteered in the Ripon Historical Society this semester.

Telschow also assisted the Ripon Historical Society with a presentation on April 21 to honor the late Lester O. Schwartz.

Book Club

The public is welcome to attend a lively discussion about the book titled, “The Henna Artist” by author Alka Joshi at the Marathon County Public Library’s Stratford Branch on Wednesday, May 18, at 1 p.m.

The May Book Club will be held outside if the weather is nice, or virtually if not. People can call the Stratford Library at 715-687-44209 for more information on the May Book Club.

Graduation

Stratford High School’s Class of 2022 will graduate at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 27, in the high school gym.

Bloodmobile

A bloodmobile will be held from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at the VFW clubhouse in Stratford.

The following Tuesday blood drives will take place at the VFW clubhouse in Stratford: June 28, Aug. 23 and Oct. 25. No appointments are needed for people to donate blood.
