Ryan’s three pointers put her near the top in the state

Last year, Laken Ryan shot a stellar number of three-pointers – around 30 – but this year, the junior eclipsed that for her Cadott girls basketball team. Setting a school record, Ryan came up with 60 shots from beyond the arc, to position herself as one of the leaders in the state for girls high school basketball.
“This season, I was just more confident with my shot,” said Ryan.
She said when her teammates passed her the ball, she knew her job was to shoot the threes when she got open, trusting the three-point threat to come up with the clutch shot.
Last summer, Ryan put in a lot of time during the off-season with summer league basketball, where she really started to develop her shot. Her brother also pushed her to work harder and be a better player, and to shoot against him on defense.
Looking ahead to the next season, Ryan wants to attempt to break her own record and help out her team.
“That would be awesome if I could,” said Ryan.
