Coming into the post-season, Cadott’s girls basketball program played host in the first round, before heading out of town.

Feb. 23 vs. Augusta-First Regional (W 65-31)

Augusta came to call as the No. 11 seed in the bracket for the opening round of Regional action, with No. 6 Cadott ready and waiting to show what they’re made of. The Hornets jumped out early and went into the break up 43-9.

The Beavers made a better showing in the second half, limiting Cadott’s points. With the large deficit in the first half, the Hornets took a 65-61 victory.

“Playoff time is exciting and we played good tonight,” said coach Dave Hazuga. “The focus was there.”

Knocking down five shots from beyond the arc and finishing with 17 points, was junior Laken Ryan. Sophomore Emma Kowalczyk also shot well, notching four long range shots, ending with 16 points. Junior Elly Eiler was right behind, with 15 points.

Junior Lauryn Goettl also came up with a three and had 8 points. Freshman Kasey Moldrem also hit a three on the night. Chipping in with 2 points each, were junior Eva Enestvedt, sophomore Bradee Burish and freshman Mozelle Walthers.

“These girls continue to impress and they are fun to watch,” said Hazuga.

Feb. 25 vs. Colfax-Second Regional (L 66-38)

Moving into the second round of Regionals, Cadott traveled to Colfax two days later, to face the No. 3 seeded Vikings.

However, Cadott’s offense was somewhat sluggish, compared to their previous game. The Hornets only put up 19 points in each half.

Watching their season come to a heartbreaking end, the Hornets conceded the game, 66-38.

Ryan again was hot from three-point land, knocking down four of the shots for 12 points. Eiler also hit a three, ending with 12 points. Kowalczyk followed that up with 6 points, while Burish had 4 and Goettl recorded 3. Enestvedt rounded out the scoring with 1 point.

Cadott bids farewell to their lone senior Olivia Goodman, after a stellar season for the squad.
