Duellman headed to State

It was just a step away from the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament for Cornell-Gilman Troy Duellman Feb. 19, as the sophomore took part in Sectional competition at St. Croix Falls.

As the lone qualifier for the Wolfpack, Duellman (145 pounds) was ready for what Sectionals could throw at him.

First up, Duellman dropped his quarterfinal match to Griffin Marko (St. Croix Falls), by a 5-1 decision, but bounced back in the consolation semis, with a win over Blair-Taylor’s Ryan Flynn, by a 1:33 fall. He then dropped the second place match to Clear Lake’s Tyler Sunday, by 5-2 decision.
