1952-2022

Linda M. Sackmann, age 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 31 at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, Minn. A Celebration of Life for Linda will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 7 at the Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home in Medford. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Monday at the funeral home. Linda was born on Oct. 16, 1952 at the Medford Hospital in Medford, the daughter of Kenneth and Joan (Habermeyer) Paul. She attended Lawndale Elementary School, Liberty Elementary school, Holway Elementary school, and was a 1970 graduate of Medford High School.

On Nov. 6, 1971, Linda married Steven M. Sackmann at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. On Nov. 6, 2021, Linda and Steve celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Following high school, Linda worked at Bell Telephone Company in Madison. After their marriage, Linda and Steve moved to Detroit, Mich. In 1975, they moved to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, where they have resided ever since. Most of Linda’s career was associated with the automobile sales business, with her most recent position being at the ADESA Auto Auction in Dayton, Minn. Linda enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, and crafts. Most of all, Linda enjoyed and treasured her time spent with family.

Surviving are her husband, Steven Sackmann of Maple Grove, Minn.; her siblings, Mary (Dave) Peissig of Medford, Rebecca (Tom) Tlusty of Medford, Judy (Joe) Obenhoffer of Rib Lake, Kathy (Merl) Schoenherr of Deforest, Tim Paul of Dorchester, Sally (Rick) Jensen of Savage, Minn., Wendy (Tim) Congdon of Hudson. Also surviving are her in-laws, David (Cynthia) Sackmann of Milwaukee, Sandra (George) Beranek of Wausau, and Suann (Steven) Prechel of Arvada, Colo. She is also survived by many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and many close friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Anne.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests memorial contributions be given in Linda’s name to either the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville or to the Jean M. Thomsen Memorial Library in Stetsonville.
