Chieftains foul trouble and injuries lead to Falcons win

By Ginna Young

It was a tough night for the Lake Holcombe boys basketball squad, as they made the short trek to Flambeau, Dec. 21. The East Lakeland Conference match was full of excitement, but also some problems on the Chieftains’ end.

“We jumped out early, to a 9-3 lead, but early foul trouble and injuries had us go to our bench early,” said coach Joy Webster. “We then struggled with putting points on the board.”

Lake Holcombe was outscored in the first half, 52-25,  and while the Falcons didn’t score as much in the second, they still outmatched the Chieftains, for a 90-46 victory.
