Cadott dominates on the scoreboard over Raiders

Hosting the first home game of the season, the Cadott girls basketball team saw Bruce come to town Nov. 23.

The first half was fairly even on the scoreboard, with Cadott taking a 25-17 lead over the Raiders into halftime.

The second half was an entirely different story. The Hornets racked up 43 points on the board to Bruce’s 11. With the large lead, Cadott took the non-conference win, 68-28.

“Our ability to share the ball is a strength of ours,” said coach Dave Hazuga. “Lots of players score it.”

Junior Laken Ryan continues to put up more three-point shots, coming away with two on the night, for 6 points. Senior Olivia Goodman also notched two from long range, finishing with 10 points. Junior

Lauryn Goettl also got in on the action from beyond the arc, putting up 13 points during the game.

Sophomore Emma Kowalczyk came up with 15 points, while junior Elly Eiler ended with 12 points, followed by junior Eva Enestvedt and sophomore Bradee Burish, with 4 points each. Freshman McKenna Steinke and Mozelle Walthers each added 2 points.

“We are working on being more consistent on defense,” said Hazuga. “We had some good stretches tonight.”
