Turchen ends her volleyball career as Player of the Year

It was a great season for Jayda Turchen and the Cornell volleyball program, with the team going undefeated in the conference for the second year in a row. Contributing to their success, the senior Turchen had a stellar year on the court, so much so, that she was selected as the East Lakeland Conference Player of the Year.
Turchen said it feels really good to be acknowledged by the entire conference.
“I did not expect it,” said Turchen.
She’s played at left side throughout her entire high school career, but hasn’t changed much, except in stepping into an increased leader role.
“Because, I needed to step forward more,” she said.
Turchen said she is very proud of how the season went.
“It was amazing, I couldn’t have asked for a better senior season.”
