Melanie A. Ravenscroft


Melanie A. Ravenscroft, 59, Vero Beach, Fla., and formerly of Holcombe, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Fla.
Melanie was born Aug. 10, 1961, to Duane and Carol (Yohnk) Dressel, in Chippewa Falls.
She grew up in Holcombe, and attended and graduated from Lake Holcombe High School.
Melanie married Randy Hetchler and to this union, they had two sons, Jacob and Tucker; they later divorced. She later married Charles βChuckβ Ravenscroft.
She helped operate the family business (Big Minnow), along with the family farm. She also worked as a truck driver, before she managed the Holcombe Cenex. She had to leave her job at Cenex, because of medical reasons.
Melanie and Chuck retired to Florida, to enjoy the warmer weather and retirement. She was a social butterfly and enjoyed making people laugh, gardening, flowers, crafts, and riding her golf cart and visiting friends.
She is survived by her husband β Charles βChuckβ Ravenscroft, Vero beach, Fla.; her mother β Carol Carroll, Holcombe; sons β Jake (Kari) Hetchler, and granddaughter, Macy, Ladysmith, and Tucker Hetchler, Holcombe; stepsons β Kenneth (Kathy) Ravenscroft, Fremont, and Kevin (Heather) Ravenscroft, Spring Green; stepgrandchildren β Kole, Kody, Maverick, Isaac and Grant; sisters Michele (Tony) Fasbender, Holcombe, and Dooper (Rick) Weber, Holcombe, by several nieces and nephews; and was βMomβ to many.
She was preceded in death by her father β Duane Dressel; stepfather β Bill Carroll; and father and mother-in-law β Willard and Gladys Ravenscroft.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 16, at Borton- Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Pastor Greg Sima officiating. Interment will be in the Cornell Cemetery, following the service.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15, and also one hour prior to the services, Monday morning, at the funeral home.
