Kids First Childcare moves for more building amenities Kid

Kids First Childcare has a new home base, after moving from their Main Street location, in Cornell, to Woodside Drive, in the former Head Start building.
The daycare center officially opened in the new location March 1.
Owner Tammy Morgal says the features of the building, which she is renting for now, with the option to buy in the future, were a large part of what made her decide to move her business. She says the off-street parking lot is a major perk and the big playground has been a hit with the kids.
“It made it very family-friendly, coming back out to here,” said Morgal. “It more than doubled my space for the kids.”
She says as long as she has the staff to do so, she would be able to accept more kids, because of the additional space, though she says she doesn’t necessarily want to expand a lot.
“A lot of my staff are working hard on getting all their classes done right now, to help out with that,” said Morgal of her seven employees.
Right now, Morgal says there are a few openings for babies, but the older age groups are on the full side.
Morgal says parents were also excited to hear the former Head Start building has central air.
“My key component is we will no longer be hot,” said Morgal.
Morgal also says parents still wanted a secured building, so she has a PIN system installed on the doors like she had at the previous location.
Older children have a learning center and a play center inside the daycare, with an open-concept connection between the two rooms.
“And then we have the baby center down the hall,” said Morgal, adding the separate space keeps the environment quieter for the babies during nap time.
Morgal says she is in the process of adding a nap room for the babies.
The three rooms have large windows, which Morgal says has been really nice and seems to K Cor Sta ne t Kids First Childcare has a new home base, after moving from their Main Street location, in Cornell, to Woodside Drive, in the former Head Start building.

“We’ve got the wildlife we get to watch out here,” said Morgal.
Morgal says the location is on a bus route for pick-up and drop-off.
“Kids love to just stand at the big window, and they all wave bye to them and tell them ‘have a great day,’” said Morgal.
Morgal says she is planning to host an open house Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
Overall, Morgal says moving has been a positive change for Kids First Childcare.
“It was a long, struggling process, but we made it.”
