Robert John Biermann


1951-2022 Robert John Biermann, 71, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2022, at his home in Ogema surrounded by his family. He was born to Donald (Wayne) and Sara “Sally” (Bruner) Biermann on March 6, 1951, in Phillips. JohngrewupinOgema, and was a 1970 graduate of Prentice High School. Following graduation, he explored a few work options before he found his calling of carpentry work. He was employed by Wanke Builders of Medford in 1970 and worked there until his retirement. John married the love of his life, Darcy, on May 8, 1976. Together they built their home in Ogema. John took great pride in building his bride a new home. John was a gifted wood worker and made several pieces for his wife, children, grandchildren and many families and friends. These pieces will be cherished for years to come. John loved to serve his community, and since 1983, he was a volunteer fireman for the Ogema Volunteer Fire Department. During this time, he served as both Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. John was an avid hunter, and what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and friends during these hunting excursions. He enjoyed taking his grandkids Kylie and Luke to sit in grandpa’s nice warm hunting shack that he built. He took several hunting trips to Colorado that he shared with his son and son-in-law. John enjoyed the companionship of his special dog, “Auggie -Doggie” who made almost every trip with him during his treatments. Prior to coming home from the hospital, he shared that he had “a good life” he also used one of his famous quotes of “it could be worse.” John lived his life that way and looked at what he was thankful for, knowing and trusting in his faith that he would have eternal life with his Creator. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prentice. He is survived by his wife, Darcy Biermann; children, Jesse (Shelby) Biermann of Ogema, and Bobbie Jo (Ben) Orysen of Prentice; grandchildren, Kylie and Luke Orysen; siblings, Peggy (Robert) Pinsch of Medford and Liz (Mike) Mertens of Stanley; sister-inlaw, Eileen Biermann of Rib Lake; several nieces and nephews; and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sally and Wayne Biermann; and brother, Donald Biermann. Delmar Shayne Stockwell

Delmar Shayne Stockwell


1971-2022 Delmar Shayne Stockwell, age 51 passed away on Dec. 24, 2022 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, OH. A funeral service for Delmar will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at RJ Stockwell Land & Auction Co. N155 Hwy 13, Dorchester, WI 54425. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will take place at RJ Stockwell Land & Auction Co. from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Delmar was born in Medford on May 10, 1971, the eighth child of Wilbur and Audrey (Brunner) Stockwell. After his mother Audrey passed away in 1974 his father remarried and he was lovingly raised by his stepmother Myrtle (Krisher) Stockwell. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1989. Delmar was interested and skilled with computers. He attended Madison Area Technical School in Madison. He worked for The Boss Industries in Madison for several years. Delmar made his choice at a young age to serve the Lord and later was called to serve in the ministry. In January 1995 he began work in the ministry in South Carolina. He later labored in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Despite several health challenges, Delmar remained committed to the work of sharing the Gospel for the love of the souls of all. Delmar is survived by five brothers and one sister, Alan (Pam) of Winona, Minn., Randy (Beaner) of Dorchester, Jeannine (Louie) Orlando of Mount Pleasant, Brian (Julie) of Jamestown, N.D., Steve (Pearl) of Milnor, N.D., Doug (Brenda ) of Clearwater, Minn.; sister-in-law, Mary Stockwell of Mount Pleasant; uncle, Fred Griswold of Beaver Dam; and special cousins, Janice (Rick) Robinson and Jane (Syd) Behm who were similar in age and like sisters to him. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Delmar loved his natural family but he often referred to those he lived and worked among as his family. Delmar was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Bruce. The family wishes to thank all of his friends and coworkers who stood by and assisted and encouraged him to continue despite his declining health. Patricia A. “Pat” Deml


1937-2022 Patricia A. ”Pat” Deml, 85, of Medford, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 27, 2022 at Our House Assisted Living in Medford. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18 at the church. Pat was born March 17, 1937 in Medford to Francis “Frank” and Frances (Gaab) Baumgartner. She grew up in Medford, where she attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Medford High School in 1955. She then took employment at Mutual Insurance in Wausau. In January of 1956, she returned to Medford and worked for Medford Motors as a bookkeeper and secretary for two years. On Sept. 8, 1956, she married Henry “Hank” Deml at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. They resided in Medford where Pat’s next years were spent enjoying her five wonderful sons and helping on the mink ranch. In her early 50’s, she went back to work as a teller at Mid Wisconsin Bank for 11 years until her retirement. In her younger years, Pat did volunteer work at Holy Rosary Rectory, Church and School. She enjoyed square dancing, bowling, sewing, cooking, gardening, going to their Lake Esadore cottage in the summers, skiing in the winter, trips to the casino, and most of all, her growing family. What a blessing to have. After retirement, she spent some time helping her parents and took other elderly to appointments. She was a Grandma Reader for the middle school, a Red Hatter, and played cards for Memorial Hospital in their card club. She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Ladies Society. Pat and Hank lived in the town of Little Black for 64 years. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Hank of Medford; five sons, John (Jeannie) Deml, Steve (Patti) Deml, all of Medford, Tom (Amy) Deml of Little Falls, Minn., Paul Deml of Medford, Doug (Jessica) Deml of Cameron Park, Calif.; a sister, Joanne Schuster of Medford; a brother, Mike (Cathy) Baumgartner of Wausau; in-laws, Agnes Robida, Mary Deml, Mary Jane Deml, Theoma Deml, Ray and Janet Deml; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gerald, David and Robert Baumgartner; Hank’s parents; in-laws, Andy, Joe, and Romie Deml, Madlin (Marc) Kulig, Mary Emmerich Molitor and Lee Schuster; and a granddaughter, Laura Lyn Deml. 1938-2022 Eugene “Ole” D. Olson, 84, of Medford, passed away on Dec. 22, 2022 at Abbotsford Health Care under the care of Hope Hospice. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Eugene was born on Aug. 9, 1938 to Casper Sr. and Alma (Nelson) Olson in the township of Chelsea. He attended Perkinstown Elementary School, Hannibal High School, and graduated from Medford High School. He married Judy Brink on Jan. 30 1960 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford; she survives. Eugene worked various jobs throughout his life, but he worked at Hurd Millwork for 40 years until his retirement in 2004. Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, baseball, football, woodworking, and bowling. Eugene is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Robin (Byron) Mallo and Scott (Liz) Olson, both of Medford; grandchildren, Ryann (Steve) Mallo-Isaak, Brandon (Chelsea Zak) Mallo, and Zach (Jen) Olson; great-grandchildren, Grayson Scott Mallo, Stevie Dawn Isaak, and Paislee Mae Mallo; brother, Edwin Olson of Wales; sister-in-law, Shirley Olson of Withee. Eugene is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. 1950-2022 Lynn “Hun Bun” Marie Steen, age 72, of Medford, passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. A funeral service will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. She was born Feb. 9, 1950 to the late Carl and Emma Karow in Athens. Lynn was united in marriage to Ray Steen Jr. in Medford on Dec. 14, 1971. They were married 51 years. Lynn had various jobs and was a homemaker raising her family. Lynn loved to visit with people. She always had a humorous story to tell. She enjoyed her trips with her daughter also her sister and friends. She also enjoyed her shopping trips to Appleton. Lynn enjoyed her flower gardens and liked watching the birds with her morning cup of coffee. Lynn is loved and missed by her husband, Ray of Medford; daughter, Lisa (Mike) Radtke of Rothschild; son, James Steen (Kathryn Gentile); grandson, Hank Steen of Medford; sister, Cheryl “Bubbles” (Tony) Eckert of Medford; brother-inlaw, Vic Nowak of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law, Mary Tessmer and Moony Tessmer, both of Athens. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Eugene Dieter

Eugene Dieter


1939-2022 Eugene Dieter, 83, of Rib Lake, formerly of Richland Center/Boaz; passed away on Thursday Dec. 22, 2022, at home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held in the Boaz Cemetery with military graveside rites to be conducted by the Local Military Memorial Honors Unit. Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. A livestream of the service will be available at the Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service website. He was born on Feb. 4, 1939, the second of ten children; to Rubert and Lucreda (Propp) Dieter in Richland Center. Eugene served in the United States Army from 1961-1963 being stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado, Fort Hood in Texas, and Fort Knox in Kentucky. On Feb. 22, 1969, he was united in marriage to Mary (Anderson) Dieter. Together they moved to Kenosha and had one son, Royce. Eugene started his auto career at Union Street Body Shop in Richland Center, continued with AMC Chrysler in Kenosha, and came to a pinnacle when together with his wife and son, they opened Dieter Auto Body in Boaz which was in service from 19872019. Eugene could often be found chasing down parts, socializing with various vendors, and taking coffee breaks. He was very proud of the business they created. Eugene had a love for life. His senior yearbook quote was fittingly “You’re only young once.” Many times, his family would shake their heads at his antics. He had a passion for cars, snowmobiles, and the water. He spent a lot of time camping in De Soto, on the Mississippi River with his family and loved taking trips in his boat up and down the river. Eugene was also an active member of various snowmobile clubs and took trips to South Dakota and Wyoming to ride sleds in the mountains in addition to uncountable trips to northern Wisconsin. In August 2014, Eugene bought a lake home on Spirit Lake in northern Wisconsin. On the day he became the official owner, he told his granddaughter that he never thought he would be able to give his family the gift of a lakefront home to enjoy forever. Eugene quickly began to consider Spirit Lake his new home and was given the unofficial title of the “Mayor of Spirit Lake” as he would cruise around the lake in his Ford Model A just “checking things out.” Eugene is survived by his son Royce (Melissa) Dieter of Rib Lake; granddaughter, Heather (Zachary) Thome of Richland Center, grandson, Nicholas (Vincent Suha) Pauls of Madison; and great-granddaughters, Clara and Emma Thome. He is further survived by his siblings, Rose (Ted) Barry, Dennis (Dianne) Dieter, Robert (Sue) Dieter, Alvin (Linda) Dieter, Gary (Deb) Dieter, Dianna (Kirk) Kepler, David (Cindy) Dieter, Lynda Smith and Darrell Dieter; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
