That’s where she held the throne of Homecoming Queen. Later, she would be crowned Summer Sweetheart of Central Wisconsin. Delores had many hobbies growing up such as fishing, hunting, biking and the love of any animal, big or small. Getting married to Glenn Rodman at age 18, moving to a farm and starting a family shortly after, Delores was destined to be an amazing cook, as they were soon raising a household that consisted of eight children. While raising her children, Delores worked at various places throughout her life, leaving a lasting impression of memories everywhere. She was well known for her kindhearted ways and empathetic nature. She had two cherished pets, a poodle “Asti” and a cat “Gracie”, whom she adored and treated as if they were her children. After marrying Clarence Weiler and managing a tavern that served food, she was known for the best potato salad in town. She couldn’t wait for the seasons to change, for doing anything outdoors were her favorite pastimes. Taking a drive in the country, listening to classic country music, mowing the lawn and planting flowers. She enjoyed going on a hayride for her birthday, or special event, watching the Brewers, or just going visiting. In winter, she enjoyed watching the Packers, board games, playing cards, doing puzzles, and decorating for Christmas. She really loved Christmas, and enjoyed having her children and grandchildren for her Christmas dinner at 1 p.m. But her favorite pastime was reminiscing about old times and laughing! She loved to laugh and just act silly! Survivors include her children: Brenda (John) Klimpke, Tammy (Mike) Dahl, Todd Rodman, Gail (Scott) Zettler, Dawn Rodman, Noreen (Dennis) Albrecht, Wendy (Tony) Niewolny and Troy (Erica) Rodman. A Friday night out dancing led to the meeting and her eventual matrimony to Klen Drury on September 6, 1974, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin, Ill. Vicki enjoyed cross-stitch, paddle boarding, tending to her flowers and gardens, puzzles, and road bicycling. She found immense joy while camping, stargazing, watching and interacting with hummingbirds, playing with their dog, Chief, and taking spontaneous road trips with her husband. Vicki dabbled in learning the guitar throughout the years, and she was always willing to try to cook or bake a new recipe. She had a huge appreciation for all of the simple joys in life. Vicki also treasured all of her family members and the times they could be together. Vicki is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Klen, and their children: Eric Drury (Amy), Amber Edwards (Scott) and Lindsay Eldridge (Martin); six grandchildren: Kate and Maggie Drury, Dougal, Aengus, Nyssa and Skadi Edwards; her siblings: Deborah McGrath (Mike), Jerome Kruse (Jane) and Thomas Kruse (Jane); sister-in-law, Sheryl McNichols (Mel), and many nieces and nephews. Oak Ave., Marshfield, WI 54449. Condolences may be sent online at https://www.rembsfh.com. Death beckoned her with outstretched hand And whispered softly of an ‘UNKNOWN LAND’ But she was not afraid to go For though the path she did not know She took DEATH’S HAND without a fear, For He who safely brought her here Had told her He would lead the way Into ETERNITY’S BRIGHT DAY… And so she did not go alone Into the ‘VALLEY THAT’S UNKNOWN’ She gently took DEATH BY THE HAND And journeyed to ‘THE PROMISED LAND’… And there, with step so light and gay, She polishes the sun by day And lights the stars that shine at night And keeps the moonbeams silvery bright… For MOTHERS really never die, They just ‘KEEP HOUSE UP IN THE SKY’… And in the HEAVENLY HOME ABOVE They wait to ‘welcome’ those they love.
