1948-2021 Doreen Jo Shatwell, 72, of Lublin, passed away July 3, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Born on November 25 of 1948 in the Town of Taft to Joseph and Marie (Ehlert) Kulesa. the movies, computer games and crossword puzzles, and spending time with the family. Doreen was always there for anyone in her family that needed her, and those that weren’t family were treated like they were. She will truly be missed. She is survived by two sons Jeff (Kathy) of Medford and Joey (Kimberly) of Dorchester; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Doreen is also survived by her siblings Gina (Don) Beauchene of Richmond, Calif., Chris (Leon) Peetz of Gilman, Darrell Kulesa of Chippewa Falls, Naomi (Bob) Warner of Westboro, and Ron Kulesa of Gilman. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law Diane; and her husband Mac in 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 10th at the Gilman Funeral home in Gilman with Darrel Diers officiating. Burial will be following afterwards in the Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am before the service. A luncheon will be held at the Gilman Senior Center after the burial. She grew up in the area and attended Gilman High School. She then moved to Chicago, where she worked and later moved to Calif., and then Ark., where she was then united in marriage to Mac Shatwell. They lived in Arkansas for 7 years before moving back to the Gilman area in 1982, where they resided since. Doreen worked at various jobs, and retired from Tombstone in the accounts payable department. She had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and her cats. Robert M. “Bob” Eisner


1931-2021 Robert M. “Bob” Eisner went to be with the Lord at his home in Rib Lake on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at age 89.99, with loved ones at his side. Bob is survived by his wife Joan; and his children Michael (Marlene) Eisner of Stetsonville, Betty (James) Barnes of Sacramento, Calif., Susan (Darrell) Freiboth of Ogema, Rose Olson (Allen Rinehart) of Phillips, Richard Eisner of Prentice, Joseph Eisner of Medford, and Maria (Chris) Banks of Little Black; 15 grandchildren Bradley (Aom) Eisner, Brian (Autumn) Eisner, Christopher Allison, Michael (Jessica) Allison, Meghan (Ethan) Hanson, Robert (Stephanie) Freiboth, Sally (Eric) Fawley, Teri (James) Byrd, Sarah (Jim) Schreiner, Benjamin (Summer) Poncek, Janessa Gumz, Riley Eisner, Mia Eisner, Erica Banks, and Janelle Banks. Bob is further survived by 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his siblings William Eisner of Rib Lake, Roberta (Donald) Engel of Fort Atkinson, and David (Mary) Eisner of Spirit. Hope Hospice assisted the family. A memorial service will be held at the Ice Age Pavilion in Rib Lake starting at 11 AM on Saturday, July 10. Bob was born in Park Falls, to John and Mary Belle (Dennee) Eisner on July 1, 1931. He was one of 10 children. He was living in Rib Lake in 1952 when he was drafted into the Army. While in Korea with Company C, 31st Infantry Regiment, he was hit in the neck with shrapnel and later awarded a Purple Heart. In 1954, he was honorably discharged and returned to Rib Lake and married Joan Probst on June 19, 1954. Bob was employed at Hurd Millwork in Medford for 46 years. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, watching sports on TV and helping other people. In his later years, he enjoyed birdwatching. Paid Obituary ad#107541

1981-2021 Nicole Therese Buechel, 39, of Stetsonville, died Thursday, July 1, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 6 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Fr. Patrick Mc- Connell officiating. Brewers; watching Seinfeld (she knew every line of every episode!); playing games of all kinds; boat rides on the lake; being outdoors; and she was an avid reader. All of these things paled in comparison to the love she had for her family, especially her two beloved children Marshall and Brooke. Nicole cherished time with them and loved being their mom. Nicole will be dearly missed by her husband, Simon of Stetsonville; children, Marshall Matthew and Brooke Therese, both at home; parents, Dave and Laurie Lavin of Stetsonville; brother, Dan Lavin of Medford; mother and father-in-law, Lorie (William) Schmitz of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Merlin Buechel of Medford; maternal grandparents, Rodney and Mary Ann Kropp of Rib lake; paternal grandmother, Joanne Lavin of Medford; brothers and sistersin- law, Sam (Lana) Buechel, Christian (Bethany) Buechel, all of Eau Claire, Austin and Alice Schmitz of Lake Havasu; niece and nephew, Morgan and Jordan Lavin of Medford; and many wonderful coworkers, neighbors and dear friends. Nicole went on to earn her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from UW-Stevens Point, and her Master’s degree in Education from Marian University. On June 24, 2006, Nicole married Simon Buechel at OLPH in Whittelsey. They resided in Stetsonville where Nicole taught 2nd grade at Stetsonville Elementary School. Nicole had many interests and was always up for anything. Summer was her favorite season and she loved to be on the water and to travel (especially if a beach was involved). Helen M. Ziembo


1923-2021 Helen M. Ziembo, 97, of Rib Lake passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Rib Lake Health Services, surrounded by family, under the care of Hope Hospice. A funeral mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11 a.m., with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Helen’s grandchildren will be serving as pallbearers. Helen was born on July 9, 1923 to Joseph and Mary (Zondlo) Maslonka on the family farmstead in Rib Lake. She attended Ward grade school and Rib Lake Junior High. She married Raymond Ziembo on June 14, 1944 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, he preceded her in death. She worked at Rib Lake Dairy for 10 years as a cheese wrapper and at Gem Products for 20 years as a liner installer. She was also a dairy farmer and a housewife. In her spare time she enjoyed babysitting, polka music and dancing, playing cards, especially rummy and solitaire, and spending time with family and friends. She and Ray also enjoyed gardening and were featured in a nationwide country living magazine. Helen is survived by 3 sons John (Joleen) Ziembo of Rib Lake, Robert Ziembo and Michael (Linda) Ziembo, both of Medford; 6 daughters MaryEllen (Mike) Thums of Rib Lake, Patricia Strebig of Medford, Susan (Phillip) Marthaler of Athens, Barbara (Richard) Berger of Rib Lake, Joann (Jim) Wilke of Merrill, and Judy Ziembo of Rib Lake; 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-greatgrandchild. She is further survived by daughterin- law Rhonda Ziembo, many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her son Joseph Ziembo; grandson Paul Thums; great-granddaughter Marcella Zuleger; brother John Maslonka; sister Kathryn Lucia; daughter-in-law Sandy Ziembo; and son-in-law Jerry Strebig.
