Cadott Village Board - Substation upgrade needed for additional capacity

Cadott is heading for a substation upgrade, necessary to allow greater capacity, after it was approved, July 21, at the village board meeting. The cost of the project is $351,216.25, with no word on when it will be complete.
“But, it will be a good thing to have,” said village clerk April Bruhn.
The board also approved moving forward with a rate case application to send to the Public Service Commission (PSC). If the PSC agrees to the increase, that will start with the billing cycle at the beginning of next year.
“No exact date, until it goes through that PSC process,” said Bruhn.
Members also upped the recycling charges for residents, from $3.25 to $4.26, per month, which will be reflected on their utility bill.
It was also agreed to designate $28,000, toward a new tender for the fire department.
They also approved Ordinance 2025-8, permitting uses of the B-1 Business District, defining allowable businesses, such as an art studio, design gallery, classes, laser printing, etc., and any other businesses, as approved by the village board.
There was also good news to report, which saved the village some time and money.
“We didn’t have to move the utilities for the (new) library, because it was already going around to the historical society,” said Bruhn.
