It’s an award that exemplifies what a student stands for in their school and community, showing others what can be accomplished with a little determination. The award is none other than the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award, which goes this year, to Cadott’s Aubree Foldy.

This award recognizes and rewards high school seniors, who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities. Students are selected by their teachers and peers, because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.

Foldy was humbled to be a DAR Award recipient, crediting her family for helping her achieve in life.

“They supported me when I was stressed, but they also celebrated every single one of my achievements, even if they were little,” said Foldy.

Throughout her high school career, Foldy organized a dance for students with intellectual disabilities and helped develop an inclusive environment for students. She’s also been active in National Honor Society and FCCLA, as well as serving as the president of Best Buddies, and taken part in roadside cleanup.

Foldy encourages others students to prioritize their work and be a good person, if they want to make the same mark in the world.

“Your teachers are going to push you, but it’s only because they want you to succeed and push you to excel at your full potential,” said Foldy.
