Cadott’s youth baseball fields undergo renovation Cadott’s youth baseball fields undergo renovation

Youth baseball and softball teams have a lot to look forward to next summer, in Cadott. The Riverside East Field dugouts were replaced and upgraded, along with replacement of the Riverside East Field batting cage and the addition of a new batting cage at the Riverside West Field.

This will provide players and the community with fields that are functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

“The new dugouts allow all our kids playing ball, some shade and a place to gather as a team, while playing a game,” said Youth Baseball Committee members and youth coach Ben Folczyk.

The improvements, costing around $25,000, were spearheaded by the Cadott Youth Baseball Club, after they reached out to local businesses and fundraised in order to make the needed upgrades.

For the batting cages, A. Schneider Construction and TJ Concrete, each provided the concrete and labor for one of the batting cages, while the Cadott Color Center donated the carpet for each cage and the netting, plus hardware, was purchased by the club.

The new dugouts at Riverside East Field were built through donated labor from Goebel Construction and Otter Creek Construction, with half of the materials donated by Jake Anderson, of Anderson Moving, and the other half paid for by the club.

A special thanks should also go to the club committee that has spent endless hours of their own time through planning, securing village permission, physical labor and collaboratively working with local businesses,” said Folczyk.

Additional plans of pouring concrete floors for the dugouts are in place and are scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2022.

The youth club says they are truly grateful for all the community members and businesses who supported the youth baseball players in any way.

“All village fields are now equipped with covered dugouts and a batting cage for players to enjoy for years to come,” said Folczyk.
