– Cornell Library –

By Sharon Shepard, library director

The Cornell Public Library is currently open our regular hours. We are only using the ramp door by the parking lot. However, people can still return things through our book drop at the front entrance at any time.

We do require face masks for anyone coming into the library. This is to help keep library staff and our patrons safe. We appreciate your cooperation.

Anyone who does not want to come into the library or wear a face mask, can call ahead and we will get together items for you. With winter approaching, our “curbside” items will be put in a cart right inside the ramp door. Patrons can just step inside the door to pick up their items.

We are limiting the number of people in the library at any given time. Library visits are limited to 15 minutes for patrons to select items and check out. It is not necessary to make an appointment to come into the library, but patrons can call before they come if they wish.

The library is currently only providing one of our computers for patron use, with a 30-minute time limit. We suggest you call ahead to set up computer time for this reason.

The library has many new items for our patrons to come in and check out. We have also had many donations of used items on our sale carts by the entrances. Anyone wishing to stop in and check those out is welcome, with browsing time limited to 15 minutes.

The library plans to continue with our normal hours. However, with a small staff and COVID, our hours are subject to change at any time. At some point, we may need to go back to curbside only.

Any changes will be posted on the doors at the library, on our Facebook page and our website at cornellpl.org. We appreciate your understanding, since things can change rapidly!
