Holcombe fireworks display will light up the sky July 4

Falling on a Saturday this year, the Holcombe July 4 fireworks display, will be set off at the Wayside Park, beginning at 10 p.m. The fireworks are sponsored by the Lake Holcombe Resort and Business Association (LHRBA). Last year was the first time the display was set off from the park, as previously, a barge was used to light the fuses remotely on the water. By moving the display to land, with appropriate setbacks, the explosives can be monitored and corrected if problems arise. The public is welcome to attend the fireworks, but there are some rules to follow for everyone’s safety. “Parking along the park road (West Lakeshore Drive) will be prohibited while setting up the fireworks and [the] road [will be] closed to traffic while fireworks are being set off,” said LHRBA member Joan Haas. “There will be signs up regarding that.”
