Marathon City negotiates park parcel
The Village of Marathon City is in discussions with Roy Thorne, general manager of Rib Falls Repair, LLC., Athens, about sale of a lot in its North Business Park.
According to a draft agreement obtained through a Wisconsin Open Records Law request, the village will sell Thorne the lot for $1 if the business owner agrees to build a $597,098 building in the village’s business park annex north of STH 29.
In return, the village pledges to substantially complete installation of a road and utilities by May 31, 2023.
In addition to this business development, the village has made an application through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority to locate a 40-unit workforce housing complex in the business park extension.
