Joan Margrete Reynolds, 85, New Franken, passed away on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019. A funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay.
Joan Goehring was born in Loyal on Aug. 10, 1934, the daughter of Otto and Manda (nee Ystad) Goehring. Joan met her husband Eugene Reynolds in 1954 and they were married on June 15, 1957, and celebrated 62 years of marriage. Joan attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and received her degree in elementary school education. She taught kindergarten and first grade at Johnson Creek Elementary. Joan was an active member of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and served as Sunday School teacher, Christian Education chairperson, deacon, ordained Church Elder, and participated in Presbyterian Women. Joan loved art, was an avid painter, and was a member, with her husband, of the Lifelong Learning Institute at UW-Green Bay.
Joan is survived by her husband, Eugene F. Reynolds; and her five children: Steven (Amy) Reynolds, Lynn (Abraham) Anderson, Thomas Reynolds, Paul (Gina) Reynolds, and Jonathan (Sondra) Reynolds. Joan loved her 10 grandchildren — Alaina, Samuel, Ethan, Jesse, Clara, Cleo, Isabel, Kosta, Eva and Alex, and two great-grandchildren, Max and Roman — with all of her heart. She is also survived by her brothers, Gordon and Jerry Goehring, and her sister, Ruth Ann Snedic.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Conrad Goehring; and a sister, Kathleen (Loraine) Cook.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to benefit the Presbyterian Food Pantry.
Joan’s family would like to thank the staffs of Oak Park Place and Unity Hospice for the compassionate care and support.
