Taylor County man dead following one-vehicle accident

Robert J. Gruny, 69, was pronounced dead by the Taylor County Medical examiner following a one vehicle crash on Hwy 102 near the intersection with Wellington Lake Road in the Town of Rib Lake.
The Taylor County Sheriff's Department dispatch center received word of the crash at 10:20 a.m. on July 15.
The initial report indicated there was a person inside the vehicle who was possibly deceased.
Emergency personnel from the Rib Lake Fire Department, the Taylor County Ambulance Service, the Rib Lake First Responders were at the scene.
According to a release from Sheriff Bruce Daniels, the initial investigation showed the passenger vehicle a Buick Rendezvous, was traveling eastbound on HWy 102 near the intersection with Wellington Lake Road when the vehicle drifted left of center and ultimately entered the north ditch and struck several trees.
Gruny was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known at this time why the vehicle swerved. Additional information will be posted as it becomes known.
This is the second traffic fatality of the year in Taylor County. On May 24, Kathryn D. Gebert, 41, was killed when the vehicle she was a passenger in was struck by a deer that ricocheted off another vehicle.
