Floatilla looks to recapture parade record from Poland

For the second year, the Cornell Floatilla looks to set a world record

By Ginna Young

For the second year, the Cornell Floatilla looks to set a world record with a kayak/canoe parade. The event takes place Saturday, July 6, with the day starting at 8 a.m., with registration at the Mill Yard Park.

At promptly 10 a.m., all crafts must be in the water and will gather together for a group photo in front of the Mill Yard. Immediately afterward, the crafts will paddle along the flowage to the Brunet Island State Park bridge.

“It’s a family-oriented event,” said Dave DeJongh, coordinator. “It’s kind of non-competitive and we’re hoping it introduces people to our stretch of the river.”
